I am delighted to be the new Headteacher at Llangatwg Community School. It is an honour to lead such a wonderful, compassionate, and inclusive school, one that has already accomplished so much. I have no doubt that we will continue to build on this success in the years to come.

At Llangatwg, we are dedicated to achieving excellence in everything we do. In the most recent Estyn inspection, Llangatwg was praised for “providing a caring and nurturing learning experience for all pupils.” The high expectations we set for our pupils are evident throughout school life, grounded in our firm belief that every child has the potential to succeed. We are passionate about offering learning experiences that not only engage but also inspire our pupils. As the needs of our pupils evolve, we are committed to continually adapting and improving our provision to meet those needs. This dynamic approach has contributed to our consistently strong results over the years, with lessons that challenge and bring out the best in every pupil. 

While we are incredibly proud of our academic achievements, Llangatwg is about so much more than just examinations. We strive to provide our pupils with a wide range of enrichment opportunities, both within the school day and through a variety of after-school clubs and activities. The energy and enthusiasm that these bring to our school are frequently remarked upon by visitors and are a hallmark of our vibrant community.

At Llangatwg, we are truly a family. The positive, purposeful atmosphere here is one where our pupils flourish. The care, support, and guidance we offer have been nationally recognised, and we know that happy pupils are successful learners. Our school ensures that every pupil has access to the support they need to thrive, both academically and personally.

We are also excited to announce the development of a state-of-the-art, 21st-century facility, set to replace our current buildings by September 2027. This offers us a unique opportunity to create an environment that will further enhance our curriculum and inspire every pupil to reach their full potential.
